This series reflects the feeling of ascendancy that Hong Kong gave me through the variety of imposing environments you can encounter in the city. I have been photographing Hong Kong since I arrived in September 2018 - one week before the biggest typhoon that ever hit the area, nine months before the 2019 protests, and 18 months before the pandemic, which almost closed the borders for three years. There is something theatrical about this city. Having been kept away from the rest of the world for three years gave me the unique opportunity to visit its backstage and allowed me to deliver a more personal view of the territory.
